I bought ‘em used last year. I know…. – you’re not supposed to buy used shoes as a way to keep your feet clean for others’ germies. But, I like ‘em! Couldn’t help it! I still wear them as often as possible. I love shoes.

weekly photo challenge #25: cards
Weekly photo challenge #25 wasn’t a challenge for me. I have to admit – again – that I didn’t put too much heart into this photo since I was rushed to get on with my weekend in Seattle. It seems that these “weekly photos” pop up on me before I’m really prepared for them. But, I’m determined to keep up with the challenge. These 2 greeting cards are symbolic to me. The one on the left “gratitude” was recently sent from new friends – Jami and Nate. Kari and I met them about 1 month ago and we already feel as though we have a bond with them. The card on the right was recently given to me from a long time Golden friend who I’ve known for about 26years. She will always be golden, because we have a genuine respect for one another – as well as being able to make one another laugh with our “child-like humor”. Almost like sisters.
Friendship has taken on a heightened meaning to me. I feel as though – in my old age – HAHAHAH- that I desire true friendship. I desire to be surrounded by people who I really care about and love – and people who respect and love me. Since I moved to Portland – it’s taken me some time to really launch into some good, wholesome and true friendships. I’ve become more picky about who I surround myself with. I no longer have tolerance for faux people. I no longer have tolerance for FLAKEY people. I only have tolerance for friends who really want to spend good, quality time with me and Kari. And, the friendships I’ve made recently are pretty right on with that!
Cheers to friendship!
weekly photo challenge #24 – color = yellow
weekly photo challenge #24 somehow was a cinch. I knew this week would creep up on me since I’ve been uber busy as usual. yay. However, the moment I found some time to capture yellow via my iPhone 3G while sitting at my desk – the yellow sticky notes jumped out at me. Yep, I’m a sticky note whore. I’ve got ‘em all over my monitor, desktop, the walls, and even on my office window. Sometimes I think I need to find a better system of reminding myself to do things, but then I realize that I have about 2 other reminder systems running simultaneously. Sheeeesh!
In other news, I’m really excited to do another photo shoot tomorrow. It is with a good friend – Shilah. Shilah is a brilliant post-doctoral biochemist genius who runs a lab at PSU. She has decided that she wants to do an edgy photo shoot of herself; something totally out of character or perhaps her alter ego. She has told me that her shoot will entail mud and being tied to a tree. This should be fun and interesting! Of course, I’ll should have some sneak peak photos from the shoot to post next week.
Happy Friday!!!!!!
weekly photo challenge #22: eyes
I took a trip to Northern California to fertilize my crops – aka – nurture some of my lifetime friendships. My main reason for going was to see a dear, sweet friend who is battling the ole evil “cancer”. And, a full report is that she’s doing great and has an amazing outlook on her life. She’s going to be cured and move on from this stuff she’s been going through and begin to live her life again – she says. Yay! Yippeeee! What a great outlook on her life she has! We had a wonderful visit which was of course not long enough.
While I was in Sacramento for a quick passing through trip, I got to see my new niece “Rhoda Mae”. Isn’t she adorable?!?!!! And, I think she did a perfect job posing with my iPhone 3Gs for this week’s weekly photo challenge #22 – eyes. Thanks, sweet baby girl! I miss you already!
weekly photo challenge #19: Color – Brown
The other day at work, I got a call from someone at Brown University wanting to have a conference at my campus in a month. Ummm, No! That’s too late for planning and not going to work – I thought to myself and ended up telling him…with a “service with a smile” over the phone. Then, it dawned on me that I also needed to capture the color brown for the weekly photo. Thanks for the reminder, dude!
As I explored every inch, every corner and the desk surface filled with office supplies and junk – I realized that the door to my office would be perfect! I like the textures in the wood. I also tried to capture some aperture in the image of the door.
I’ve got lots of plans this weekend. One, that I’m super excited about! I’m doing a photo shoot with Bibi McGill! Wohoooooo!
More details to come.
Happy weekend, everyone!
weekly photo challenge #18: Feet
Oh how I admire women who have the time, money and luxury to keep their feet clean, polished, and always looking pretty. I once had the time and money to get my toes done just about every 4 weeks or so. These days, I find myself clipping my own toenails and working on the last spot of red on my big toe and index toes from the last pedicure I got in May. I think I’m long overdue for dipping feet into a hot foot tub and getting them scrubbed, rubbed, and painted.
It’s Labor Day weekend, folks! Go out and get your bbq, camping, hiking, biking, resting, partying, and whateverelse you do – ON! What is it that you’re doing this weekend?
Happy Friday, happy Feet!
weekly photo challenge #17: Road
Wow it’s been a busy week! So busy that I didn’t get around to posting my daily photo yesterday. Boo. I’ve decided that I like being way busy from day to day rather than stagnant and nothing going on. It seems like my Life, since I moved into my new house back in may has totally picked up – compared to when I was living in the other house. I remember always feeling blue with nothing to do. Perhaps it was because I was still relatively new to Portland and didn’t know many people. And now I’ve been meeting so many more new friends and socializing a lot more. Wohooooo! Feels great!
Okay, so I’m rambling! We’ll call it “Rambling Friday”.
Today’s weekly photo challenge is – Road. Brought to you by the Canon EOS 40D. Sighhhhh… and someday very soon I will have one all to myself – for keeps!
Happy Friggen Friday, peeps!
weekly photo challenge #16: cold
Call it how you see it. I see it as COLD. When it’s a warm summer day in Portland, Oregon – it’s quite challenging to think outside the box and capture “COLD”. Especially when I’m enjoying a Friday evening happy hour. This is the first thing that I was able to wrap my lips around and snap a few shots of. Enjoy!
Happy Friday, y’all!
weekly photo challenge #15: fork
I missed a post this week. For a good reason. We’ve got friends visiting from NorCackyLacky. What fun what fun!!!!! Which also means that I’ve got a 5 day weekend vacation. We were sitting at the table grubbin’ on breakfast burritos, gluten-free blueberry chocolate chip pancakes, and a big ass egg sandwich, when I noticed that I was surrounded by forks on the table.
I wanted to capture a different view of forks; all the sizes of forks I use on a day to day basis. My favorite fork is the appetizer fork. We call it the “poo-poo platter fork”. Usually about once a week, we make a poo-poo platter for dinner consisting of chunks of cheese, fresh avocado, red bell peppers, carrot sticks, and hummus. Mmmmm Mmmmmm. We like to feel kinda dainty using the little forks for this platter. Enjoy this weekly photo challenge – FORK or “fork you!”
