forest park and tourists
We had an awesome power hike yesterday at Forest Park. What a beautiful spring day it was here in Portland. I think the weather got up to 72degrees; sunny and cool. The first day of the year that I wore shorts! Yay! Forest park is an amazing urban park. It’s the largest urban park within city limits. Yes, way larger than Central Park. And the view… well, if those darn tourists would get out of the way we’d be able to see the view. This guy actually brought his tripod.
So, I decided to take a picture of his view. Man, I so need a new camera.
blossoms…
….as I stood there trying to capture the perfect photo of these gorgeous blossoms a woman passed me on the sidewalk. I was so tired and delirious after a night of no sleep since the break in.. I turned to the woman and said, “aren’t they beautiful. They’re so soft you want to sleep with them…”
She stared at me.
Deer. In. The. Headlights.
…and kept walking.
ducks.
I’ve been told that after a few months into the Oregon rain season everyone basically turns into ducks. I have heard from a lot of people that the rain seriously never goes away until May or June. This scares me in a way. But, on the other hand, I’ve lived in wet climates previous to Portland. They haven’t been as wet as Portland, but I’ve experienced the duck-syndrome.
I am commited to seeing the silver lining during this season. Cuz, I’ve got to tell you the Spring and Summer here are friggen fabulous!
