cat’s perspective
Every now and then, when I’ve got my camera in hand I like to mix up the typical perspective view. I’ve got a great series of table top shots and some shots I like to take from over my head. This perspective is always fun for me. I like to place the camera on the ground and check out the view from that perspective. It’s kinda like what a cat would see.
kari
So this weekend I got to take the office camera home in order to test it out. Ooooooooh la la! It’s a Canon EOS 40D and it knocks the socks off of my ol’ point and shoot Canon powershot! Wowza!!! Kari and I went for a nice hike through the forest which turned out to be a lot of “stop and go and click and go and stop and click and stop and go and click click click”.
I’ve got to say that it’s going to be really tough to bring the camera back to the office on Monday.

moss
Folks really don’t believe us when we tell them that moss grows everywhere in the pacific northwest. I recall quite clearly last summer – even in the 100 degree heat wave we had that I spotted a ton of moss still living in our yard.
This brings me to yesterday’s new. I had been feeling quite fed up with the grey, rainy days and was thrilled to see what a brilliant day it had turned out to be. I hastily threw on my pumas and went for a quick jont in my hood to soak up some natural Vit D. Of course, I grabbed my point and shoot Canon in case there was something new or different that I had to shoot. I came across my next door neighbor’s roses in his front yard and realized that yes,… moss grows on rose bushes as well. Check this out.

This weekend, I got to spend some qt-time with my sisters here in Portland. We stayed at the Ace Hotel, drank beers at the Clyde Commons, ate sushi at Masu Sushi, and walked across the Burnside Bridge to watch Liv Warfield “The Queen of Soul” sing her heart out at the Doug Fir. This morning, we had arranged to get our Tarot Cards read by “Tarot Chick – Renee”. I gotta tell you – she is damn good and hits it all right on the nail. I ended the morning sipping on a delicious espresso drink at the Stumptown Coffee next door to the Ace Hotel. Yummers!
If you’ve never been to Portland, then put it on your Bucket List!
