This weekend, I took the train from Portland to Seattle to see my sister, mom, and family.
It was such a trip for me (compared to the airport) to walk from the taxi cab and into the train station. It’s like going back in time about 50 years ago. There is no security. No chaos. No rush to the gate to jump onto the plane before it takes off. The entire train station feels very calm. I walked in, proceeded to the ticket counter to get my seating assignment, and then over to the gate to get in line with the other passengers. And, that was basically it. When the time came to begin boarding the train, there was an announcement over the loud speaker to begin lining up and board the train.
Once I was seated on the train, the experience of the train ride was very relaxing. And, what usually feels like eons during a 3+ hour flight felt like nothing on the train. Once we arrived into Seattle, I still felt relaxed and ready to take on Seattle! Whooooot Whooot! All Aboard!
